Phoenix Trip - Christmas Weekend 2010

The winter storm finally hit Farmington, I wish I was back in Phoenix in the warm weather. We went to Phoenix for the Christmas weekend, and we had a blast! We stayed at the Montelucia Resort in Paradise Valley, it was BEAUTIFUL! Dad totally hooked us up for the weekend (He rocks!). There were orange and lemon trees all over the resort, plus palm trees and hibiscus flowers and lots of other beautiful plants. I was just amazed and awestruck, and one day when I'm not tied to anything anymore, I want to own a home there!

We got there on Christmas Eve, and as soon as we unloaded the suitcases, we headed to the outdoor pool. We played like little kids-Marco Polo, Chicken Fights, and Underwater Handstand Contests. We stayed till our hands were prunes, and then we went and got ready for Christmas Eve dinner at the Prado Restaurant. Dad totally hooked us up again, and we had a private dining room for our gourmet meal. It was delicious! I had Steak Tar Tar, Pork Ossobusco (it just fell right off the bone) and a Carmel Tart with Vanilla Gelatto for desert. The Chef came out and talked to us, my cousin Alton wanted to tell him personally how much he enjoyed the meal (he is so cute!). He was from Germany, and he was glad to hear we enjoyed our meal. Alton got his autograph and a picture with him. After our meal, we were all so full and tired we just went to bed.

We got up Christmas morning, and went to mom and dad's suite for breakfast. Again, another delicious meal (can you tell I like to eat?). We played volleyball and the guys played bocce ball, and then we all got ready to go to the game. Once we got to the stadium, we tailgated with some friends of ours. We were keeping it real with the tarp canopy LOL. We had a lot of fun visiting, and then we headed into the stadium. We found our box, which was right on the 50 yard line. Again, dad hooked us up! We had our own waiter, who brought us food and drinks all night so we didn't have to miss any of the game. The game was really good, and we were pretty much on our feet the whole time. The end of the game was a real nail-biter. I think our whole family was hoarse when we left the game from all the yelling and cheering. It was a great experience!

Amy and I

As I was going through some pictures on my computer today, I came across one that one of my mom's friends had dropped off one day as she was cleaning her house. It was a Christmas card that my mom had sent her in 1984. Amy was only about 10 months old at that time, I was 3 years old. I smile everytime I see it - I was definitely the protective big sister! After all these years, I still call my sister one of my best friends and I love her so much and am so proud of her.

Girlfriends Reunion 2010

After almost 10 years, all of us girls were all finally able to be together again. We held a baby shower for Court at Jen's house in Albuquerque. I love this picture and cherish this special day! Here is the picture we took 10 years ago, and the one from this year.

BFF Christmas Lunch

I got together with my girlfriends this weekend to celebrate Christmas and had a great time at Olive Garden. Jen brought her baby girl, Lauren, and I loved holding and snuggling with her. She is so precious. I loved talking with the girls and hearing all the funny stories of their families and what had been going on in their lives lately. I'm so lucky to have these girls in my life, and after all these years, still call them my best friends. I am truly blessed!!

Christmas 2010

We took family pictures with the McCullers this weekend. Jarrod and Aliesha came to New Mexico, we haven't been together since they got married 3 years ago! We had a fun weekend spending time together and doing our Chinese Christmas Party and Gift Exchange. The food was delicious (I introduced the McCullers to Potstickers!) and we laughed a lot, usually at Derrick and Jarrod. We also got to do the Lord's Supper as a family on Sunday night with Ric, Derrick and Jarrod leading us. I thought that was pretty special!
